Sri Bhagavan Speaks
HOW DOES KARMA HINDER IN REMOVING THE SELF?
The car has to stop. There is a past momentum, a karmic momentum. So for some time, there might be some problems. But all that would eventually dissolve because no fresh karma would be accumulated.
-Sri Bhagavan
HOW TO REMOVE THE SELF?
That is Awakening. When you get awakened, the Self dissolves. Basically, if the Self goes, all problems should go.
-Sri Bhagavan
WHAT IS UNCONDITIONAL JOY?
WHAT IS UNCONDITIONAL JOY?
This joy does not depend on whatever you are gaining or whatever you are losing. It is just there. You could be anybody. You might be the world’s most powerful man, the world’s most richest man, but you would not have this joy unless you experience reality as it is, and unconditional love.
-Sri Bhagavan
Sri Bhagavan on Gratitude
Millions of devotees across the world, express their gratitude towards Sri Amma Bhagavan for having done so many miracles in their lives and for whatsoever they have been blessed with in their personal, professional and spiritual life.
Sri Bhagavan says “The hallmark of greatness is gratitude. Unfortunately people do not have this with them. Lack of gratitude, hinders growth. When observed carefully, every creature is indebted to Planet Earth for all that it has received. When a child is born, the child owes his/her gratitude to the mother for feeding him/her. Then the child expresses gratitude to the father for the security he provides. As a student the child owes gratitude for the knowledge and wisdom received from teachers. One also owes gratitude for the knowledge of life experience received from the forefathers”.
In our daily life, we owe a lot to many people, but nobody realises the significant role others play in our life. For example, everyday we get to know what is happening around the world only by reading newspapers. How many of us would have thought about this and expressed our thanks at least once in our life time to the paper boy who ensures that we get our newspaper everyday regularly. Also, milk packets are delivered at our doorsteps each morning. How many of us have ever ‘thanked’ the person, even once, who places the milk packets, on time for our morning beverages to start the day, be it the rainy season, summer or winter, whatever, … forget thanking; how many of us even thought of it till today. Remember, if there is no milk or paper, we can’t start the day joyfully. Similarly we need to be thankful to many people known and unknown to us, for having helped us spend every day in this world with our day to day activities, such as bus drivers, auto drivers, house maids, scavengers, shop keepers, security guards, etc. We have all become machines and think that this is everyone’s duty, anyways. Sri Bhagavan says, gratitude is the golden key for helping the flowering of the heart. We need to even be thankful to plants, animals and the whole of God’s creation.
When one inculcates the sensitivity to recognize these Blessings and when the heart dwells in the state of gratitude, one realizes that this Universe is bountiful and every moment of one’s life is Divinely guided with the Grace of God. Gratitude is the highest expression of emotion in humans as it signifies the evolution of one’s consciousness.
WHAT ARE TWO KINDS OF PROBLEM?
They are of two kinds created problem and real problem. So whenever you tell us “this is our problem”, we know that it is a created problem. The real problem is something else. So how to get there, stay with it.
-Sri Bhagavan
WHY IS THERE SURGE OF NEGATIVITY?
When survival is threatened, negativity would automatically go up. They have a close link. Negativity, survival and security are closely linked. When that is threatened, it will automatically go up.
-Sri Bhagavan
WHY IS THERE FEAR OF SURVIVAL?
Whenever you are involved in some work which you do not like, which you hate, then negativity becomes too much. Because then you are doing if for survival sake and you always have a fear of survival.
-Sri Bhagavan
HOW TO DEAL WITH SUFFERING?
So, by merely understanding it’s a story is not sufficient.
You must know what is the story. So you must take the suffering to the next stage by experiencing it.
-Sri Bhagavan
WHAT TRIGGERS SUFFERING?
See first thing you’ve got to understand is that all suffering is only a story. A story is what is causing the suffering.
-Sri Bhagavan
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I PRACTICE INNER INTEGRITY?
You’ll be as free as the bird that is flying in the skies, so totally free you’ll become. But you have to practice inner integrity. The only tool is inner integrity.
-Sri Bhagavan
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I LIE TO MYSELF?
Speaking lies to somebody is ok, but speaking lies to yourself destroys you.
-Sri Bhagavan
WHY CAN’T I SEE MYSELF?
You don’t like the feeling of feeling guilty, feeling bad. So everything is nicely decorated. All that rubbish in you is nicely decorated.
It’s all hiding inside. That is your problem. You’ve never seen yourself.
-Sri Bhagavan
AM I GOOD PERSON?
You know very little about yourself, but you seem to know so much about others and the fact is if you look into yourself you know what you’ll find there? Everybody wants to think nicely about themselves, to think good about themselves.
-Sri Bhagavan
What should I do if mind has to stay put at one point?
CONCENTRATION
Padapranams Sri Bhagavan, What should I do if mind has to stay put at one point?
Sri Bhagavan: See, the mind,
breath and kundalini form a triangle. If you tamper with one you’ll be tampering the other two. Suppose the breath is not constant or steady, the mind also will not be constant and steady. Similarly if the kundalini is vibrating too much, then also the mind will be unstable. Kundalini will start vibrating depending on the temperature, air pressure, depending on the kind of people around, depending on the food you’ve eaten, the clothes you are wearing - so many factors.
So as the kundalini is vibrating, the mind also becomes unsteady and becomes unfocused. So also is breath. In fact breath is a crucial element and most people do not even know how to breathe. That’s why I often say that, children must be taught in school as to how to really breathe.
When this is done, you’ll actually find that the mind becomes steadied. Without setting right these two things the mind will be very shaky. And of course if you are not able to do these things, you can very well ask me inside and I will steady it. And you’ll have a very focused mind. It’s not very difficult to achieve.
Sri Bhagavan
HOW TO STOP LYING?
If you want to stop speaking lies you have to practice inner integrity. And as lies reduce there is no need for thoughts to go on working like this.
-Sri Bhagavan
CAN I SPEAK ONLY TRUTH?
Unresolved hurt would only further problems in your relationship.
Sri Paramjyothi
——
LIBERATION FROM THE SELF
Self is the sense of separate existence. Whenever there is the ‘me’ and the ‘other’ the result is fear fear of what the other would do to me. Out of fear, struggle for survival, comparison, jealousy, hatred, all the rest are born. Sri Bhagavan says, “Self is only a concept”. A concept by definition is something that does not exist in reality. It is an illusion.
——
CAN I SPEAK ONLY TRUTH?
All the time you are speaking lies and if you speak the truth, you would destroy society.
But if you don’t speak the truth you will lead a life of lies which has its own harmful effects.
-Sri Bhagavan

WHY AM I ALWAYS TIRED?
Very often you feel tired, you can’t enjoy life because of non-stop thinking. So what’s the point of that thinking? So if all this must stop, you have to go back to inner integrity.
-Sri Bhagavan
IS THERE THOUGHTS IN PRESENT?
In the present, you cannot think. Conversely, you can think of the past or the future. The present is a living experience. There is no thought at all.
-Sri Bhagavan
HOW TO RECEIVE DEEKSHA?
The Oneness Blessing (Deeksha) is given by laying hands on your head after praying or sometimes through intent. This allows the Oneness Blessing to flow.
-Sri Bhagavan
HOW TO GET ONENESS BLESSING?
The Oneness Blessing neither requires practicing a particular way of living nor is an initiation into following a new path. It does not bind one to any philosophy or ideology.
-Sri Bhagavan
