The experience of pain or pleasure is true but the thought that causes it, is an illusion. Because thought itself is unreal
The experience of pain or pleasure in your life is undeniably real. When you suffer or feel joy, it is deeply felt in your being. But if you truly observe, you will see that these emotions are born from thoughts-thoughts about the past, the future, or what “should be.” These thoughts create interpretations, judgments, and stories, and it is through these stories that suffering or pleasure arises.
But the truth is-thought itself is an illusion. It is not rooted in reality; it is a movement of memory and imagination. When you realize this deeply, you begin to see that while the emotional experience is real, the root cause-your thoughts-have no solid existence. This realization brings great freedom. You are no longer a prisoner of thought. You begin to live directly, innocently, in the now-free of the illusions created by the mind. Let’s pray to Sri Ammabhagavan to understand that everything is caused by illusion.
